Agaricus blazei and the Immune System
A human clinical trial with 100 people showed Agaricus blazei enhanced NK cell activity. An animal research study showed Agaricus blazei enhanced T-cell production in the spleen. Beta-glucans, which occur naturally in Agaricus blazei, have previously demonstrated ability to enhance the activity of NK cells, macrophage, and polymorphonuclear leukocytes.
Animal research has shown Agaricus blazei may enhance the production of the following immune system proteins, Interferon-alpha and Interferon-beta,Interferon-gamma, Interleukin-6, Interleukin-12, Interleukin-18, TNF-alpha. Research conducted on cells has shown Agaricus blazei may enhance the production of the following immune system proteins, Interferon-gamma, Interleukin-1, Interleukin-8, Interleukin-12, TNF-alpha, CD80 and CD86, TLR2, CXCL1, CXCL2, and CXCL3.

Our Agaricus blazei mushrooms are the product of an Agaricus blazei parent strain cultivated by mycologists in northern California known as SBRFG, and an Agaricus blazei parent strain cultivated by mycologists in Japan known as I-101.
Atlas World's Agaricus blazei mushrooms regularly undergo DNA fingerprint analysis, to ensure this special strain of Agaricus blazei is the one used in all Atlas World products.
